Dr. Helen Brown and PhD student Kelsey Timler were invited to witness a historical event on Wednesday, December 8, 2021. They were present among the invited guests when President Santa Ono signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the University of British Columbia and the Tŝilhqot’in National Government.
Representing the Tsilhqot’in Nation in the signing of the memorandum were:
Nits’ilʔin Joe Alphonse - Tribal Chairman (Tŝilhqot’in)
Nits’ilʔin Otis Guichon – Vice Chairman (Tŝideldel)
Nits’ilʔin Francis Laceese – (Tl’esqox)
Nits’ilʔin Troy Baptiste – (ʔEsdilagh)
Nits’ilʔin Jimmy Lulua – (Xeni Gwet’in) and
Nits’ilʔin Lennon Solomon (Yuneŝit’in)
