Description
This fund provides support for nursing research, specifically for the study of issues
related to respiratory health and illness. Budget requests may be up to $3,000.

Students in the School of Nursing.

This fund provides support for research in public health in all of its forms including
screening, early intervention, disease surveillance, health promotion, disease prevention,
fostering self-care, and community empowerment. Budget requests may be up to $3,000.

Students in the School of Nursing as well as tenure track nursing faculty during
the pre-tenure period.
Description
This fund provides support for research in nursing, specifically for the study of
issues related to childbearing women and their families. Budget requests may be
up to $3,000.
Eligibility
UBC School of Nursing faculty including tenure, tenure-track and continuing appointees;
joint and adjunct appointees are eligible if collaborating with School of Nursing
faculty or students as co-principal investigators or co-investigators; students
in the School of Nursing. Preference will be given to faculty who are new investigators
or faculty investigators embarking upon new areas of study. No investigator can
concurrently hold more than one SON research grant as principal investigator or
co-investigator with the exception of those in a supervisory role with students.
Review Process:
A sub-committee will be established to oversee the reviews and adjudication process.
The principles of ethical peer review will be upheld in structuring the review process.

Notification of Awards
Recommendations will be submitted to the Director, School of Nursing. Successful
applicants will be notified. Funds are awarded for a ONE-YEAR period.
