Several awards that recognize academic achievement are granted annually by the UBC School of Nursing to incoming and continuing PhD students. The School is grateful to the generous donors who make these awards available. These awards are administered by a graduate program scholarship committee and no application is required.

The Graduate Student Initiative (GSI) is a University-wide program for funding graduate students. There are many housing options for PhD students. Major fellowship holders are guaranteed housing assignments to single student residences. Year-round housing for families with one or more children, or for couples, is also available. To find out which graduate awards are eligible for assured student housing, please contact UBC Housing and Conferences. The housing application process is entirely separate from the admissions process - please do not wait until you are admitted before applying for housing.
PhD students have representation on the School of Nursing Graduate Programs Policy Committee and the School of Nursing Faculty Caucus. If you are interested in serving in one of these roles, please discuss the opportunity with the PhD Graduate Advisor. Students are encouraged to get involved with the UBC Graduate Student Society.
