Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing - Getting Ready To Start

Orientation sessions, including library orientation, are held at the beginning of each academic year. Notification of these events will be emailed to you from the PhD Program, Graduate Advisor.

The Graduate Advisor, Dr. Alison Phinney, and your assigned supervisor are available to assist you before you register for courses and throughout the year as you make decisions related to your studies and progression. They will clarify program requirements and policies, and address questions of academic concern. Please telephone 604-822-7484 or email: Alison.Phinney@nursing.ubc.ca.

Getting Connected

All students receive a free Netinfo email account. You can register for and activate your account once you have a student number and are eligible to register for courses. Visit www.netinfo.ubc.ca for information about how to register.

There are two steps involved in setting up a UBC student email account:

1. Register for a Campus-Wide Login (CWL) account if you haven't already. This account is used to access the Student Service Centre and many other services, including WebCT (for distance courses), myUBC (for Web access to email), and Wireless.
2. Register for a Netinfo (UBC Email) account. Your Netinfo account gives you access to email services.

If you need assistance, please call the ITServices Help Desk at 604.822.2008 or visit the ITServices website.
