Scholarship Information

UBC School of Nursing Awards and Bursaries

There are actually many scholarships that are available from the School of Nursing and UBC that you cannot directly apply for; you will be automatically considered for these based on grades. Please find listed some scholarships/bursaries that you can apply for; eventually we will have a link to applications online as well.

Walter H. Gage Memorial Fund

Supports students/individual/group activities that are of broad interest to students and enhance the reputation of UBC. May collect funds up to $2000. (Does not fund field trips, graduate student travel, participation in non-student conferences/activities, or any project part of academic curriculum. Contact: Megan Hill (megan.hill@ubc.ca)

Premier Undergraduate Awards

Must have attended UBC for at least 2 winter sessions; ranked top 10% of faculty; entering penultimate/final year of study; interest in sports, leadership, community activities

Wesbrook Scholar

The same as above with the exception of only having to attend one full winter session. Check out the UBC awards page for more information about these and other scholarships (The deadline for these is Sept. 27th - so this Monday... but fear not, there are PLENTY of other scholarship opportunities throughout the year!)

The University of British Columbia and the Canada Millennium Scholarship Foundation

UBC and the Canada Millennium Scholarship Foundation have teamed up again this year to offer scholarships designed to recognize students in their upper years of study.

Canadian Nursing Foundation Study Awards

The criteria and application forms for 2004 CNF Study Awards for nursing students is now available on their web site www.canadiannursesfoundation.com. Please note that only 3rd and 4th year Baccalaureate students are eligible to apply, unless they are RN's returning to a Baccalaureate program, in which case they can apply for any year of funding.

The Mount Arrowsmith Chapter of RNABC $1000 Bursaries

The 09-Jun-2008 is again offering two $1000 bursaries to past/present students of our district who are currently enrolled in a nursing program in BC. Those interested please contact Kristen Magel (Treasurer of RNABC Mt Arrowsmith chapter), by email kristent@telus.net or by phone (250)752-7502. The deadline is February 16.
