Bachelor of Science in Nursing – Current Students

Congratulations on choosing baccalaureate studies in nursing...

As a BSN student we hope that you will enjoy and make the most of your time with us and within the dynamic university environment. A key aspect of baccalaureate education is gaining valuable experience in clinical practice, developing your skills and expertise in local hospitals and the community. You are also encouraged to discover or create opportunities to develop your skills as a nursing scholar. The University provides a wealth of learning opportunities and experiences with offerings from the arts, sporting activities, and learned discussion. Tuum Est - It is Yours!

Getting Ready to Start

Orientation sessions for new students are held as each new academic year begins in late August or September. It is very important that you attend an orientation to ensure that you are familiar with the curriculum, program structure, timetabling, and program policies. Library orientation is provided at this session and at other scheduled times and locations. Please refer to the Library Instruction Centre.

Advisement

The BSN Advisor, Anne Dewar is available to assist you before you register and throughout the year as you make decisions related to your studies and progression. She will clarify program requirements and policies, and address questions of academic concern. Please telephone 604-822-7465 or email: anne.dewar@nursing.ubc.ca. To make the most of your program we strongly encourage you to consult the program overview and timetable to develop your program of study.
