Academic Programs
A leading centre for nursing education, research, scholarship and practice, the mission of the UBC School of Nursing is to prepare outstanding professional nurses who are committed to excellence and innovation.
The School offers two distinct undergraduate programs leading to the bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) degree: a baccalaureate program in nursing and a post-basic baccalaureate program for candidates who are registered nurses. The basic baccalaureate program prepares students for professional licensure as registered nurses. Students with advanced academic preparation in another discipline enter at the third year level and can complete a baccalaureate degree in nursing in two academic years.
The School also offers two graduate programs: a master of science in nursing (MSN) and the doctor of philosophy (PhD) degree. These graduate programs provide advanced professional leadership, clinical scholarship and research training beyond the baccalaureate degree in nursing.
