International Initiatives

The UBC School of Nursing has moved beyond Canada by forming strategic partnerships with nursing educational centres around the world. By working together and sharing knowledge, we enhance the profession of nursing and improve the level of world health standards. The School's partnerships are designed to foster the development of nursing education, practice, and research in all countries, and to promote international relationships between the UBC School of Nursing and nursing educational centres around the world.

Guru Nanak College of Nursing, India

Guru Nanak

The UBC School of Nursing is working in active partnership with the Canada-India Education Society and its associated organization, the Guru Nanak Medical & Educational Trust in India to assist the faculty of the Guru Nanak College of Nursing in Dhahan-Kaleran, Punjab in the development of an internationally recognized baccalaureate nursing program. The Partnership Project is overseen by an Advisory Committee made up of members from the UBC School of Nursing faculty, the Canada-India Education Society, and nurses from the local South Asian community.

Mahidol University, Department of Nursing, Thailand

The partnership between Thailand's Mahidol University and the UBC School of Nursing promotes a scholarly exchange program enabling Mahidol and UBC students to undertake research and gain additional experience in an international setting. The exchange program also encourages visiting faculty from both institutions particularly in the areas of Pediatric Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Nursing Administration, and Care of the Elderly.
