The School of Nursing exists in a dynamic environment both within the University and in the wider arena of health care. The last decade has seen enormous changes in these environments, and the School itself set important new directions in order to continue to fulfill its mandate of leadership in nursing teaching, research and scholarship, and professional practice. The School's continued success depends on its ability to anticipate and respond to changes in health care and higher education, and to communicate its message to a wider audience. To that end, a School of Nursing Advisory Council has been established.
The mandate of the SoN Advisory Council is to provide advice to the Director on matters related to the School's activities in its three mission areas of teaching, research and scholarship, and professional practice, as well as on matters of importance to the advancement of the School.
